Hotspots 1.22

Publisher Description

Unofficial application to handle Wi-Fi connectivity of your Android device. It takes into account previously configured networks, on the one hand, and surrounding Orange and FreeWifi hotspots on the other hand (you must have valid credentials, see http://www.orange-wifi.com and https://wifi.free.fr):

- Automatically switch between different access points based on the signal strength among surrounding Wi-Fi hostpots and previously configured networks. Ideal to prevent unwanted connections to networks that are malfunctioning or whose signal is too weak.

- Automatically authenticate to supported hotspots (if you provide valid credentials).

The application is running in the background and doesn't require any action from the user. It will connect the device automatically to the best Wi-Fi access point.

### Detailed description ###

Only the networks whose signal is greater than a given threshold will be taken into account. An Internet connectivity test is also performed after the connection. If no effective connectivity is detected after a given time, the current network is disabled and the next one is tried. Note that the application doesn't enable/disable the Wi-Fi connectivity of the device but only Wi-Fi networks. Regarding supported hotspots, the authentication is handled in a transparent way if you provide valid credentials.

Here is the detailed algorithm used:

IF:
OR Wi-Fi scan done,
OR disconnection from the current network,
OR screen unlocked,
{

}

The application can try only 2 configured networks and 2 hotspots each time (a total of 4 networks). When the process is finished, the application is suspended for 5 seconds, even if the conditions are met. If no network is successfuly connected after the second try, the delay becomes 10 seconds, then 20, etc. to 5 minutes max. This delay is reset after the first sucessful connection to a Wi-Fi network.
